About Miles

Raised in the South, Miles has aspired to live a life driven by the timeless values of faith, honor, and tradition. Hailing from the winding roads and warm hospitality of Greenville, South Carolina, he was raised on the stories of chivalry, courage, grit, and the rugged independence epitomized by some of his heroes like John Wayne, Dean Smith, Jimmy Stewart, Nolan Ryan, and Chuck Connors.

As a child, Miles was never absent from running around the pews when the church doors were open. He is a native of the Bible belt, raised in the Charismatic and Pentecostal traditions, and served in his local church before making a hard right turn towards the study of law in Virginia. There, he met and married a Southern Baptist girl from Texas.

Miles has worked behind the curtain at many churches; he knows and understands the rich traditions of the extensive good that can be done by, and the real brokenness that can be found in any church. A pastor would be hard-pressed to present a situation to Miles that would surprise him. Coupled with his love for the church is Miles’s passion for justice. His legal mind was sharpened by earning his Master of Government and ultimately a Juris Doctor. He spent over fifteen years in law practice defending the religious liberties of individuals and organizations all over the world. 

This work led him to places near and far, including the floor of the United States Senate, the International Criminal Court at the Hague in the Netherlands, Israel and the United Nations, and across the country in the living rooms of citizens being targeted by their own government.

Providentially, Miles also earned a Master of Divinity which continues to fuel his unique calling in the nuanced world of church law.
